TGO 15 route vetted

Finally had the approval of my TGO route (the delay was me getting it in not the vetting process), only a few minor changes to my FWA were necessary. Grin I made a few changes from my initial thoughts, I’ll still set off from Lochailort but plan is: Friday 8th – Loch Beoraid; Corryhully, Glenfinnan Sat 9th – Callop, Cona Glen Sun 10th – Corran Ferry, Lundavra, Lairig Mor Mon 11th – Kinlochleven (resupply Co-op store), Chairain Bothy Tues 12th – Loch Ossian, Strath Ossian Wed 13th – An Lairig, River Pattock Thurs 14th – Dalwhinnie (resupply – probably nip up to Kingussie Co-op) Fri 15th – Gaick Lodge, Allt Gharbh Ghaig Sat 16th – Glen Bruar, Tarf Hotel, Falls of Tarf Sun 17th – Fealar Lodge, Glen Shee (resupply – buried stash) Mon 18th – Carn of Claise, Tolmount, Glen Doll Clover, Tues 19th  – Tarfside Wed 20th – Glen Dye, Fetteresso, Thurs 21st – Dunnotar, Marine Hotel The primary route is around 315km (195 mls) which I’d normally anticipate to complete in ~ 12 days so if the weather’s good I wouldn’t be surprised to end up in the Marine Hotel a day early. I’m planning to include a batch of Munroes & Corbetts along the way (weather dependant) & have a jolly good time……..I hope to see some of you on the trail.

Looks like our paths may cross at Tarfside. I’m tracking further north most of the way, but your planned route is very like my “second choice route” for last year. Hope your knee is much improved by now. K

Hope to see you in Tarfside. Chairain bothy was really nice when I was there in 2012

Cona Glen is a fine remote place often overlooked by Challengers. Enjoy.

    Nice route.
There are bits that bring fond memories.
    Contact Glen is pretty.
If you arrive a day early you could miss out on the deep joys of Tarfside Tuesday.
If you are at the Clova Hotel on Mon I may well see you there.
I am planning a bumpy route from there to Tarfside.

That was Cona Glen, not contact?
A curse on predictive text, and my dyslexic thumbs.

Looks like our first Four days may coincide at a few points, though I may nip over from Cona Glen to Glen Scaddle if the weathers OK, take in a top or two along the way.

Sounds good, I’m planning to be at the hotel on Thursday evening and camp local, there’ll probably be a few folk around.
I’ve got 4 Corbetts in mind before reaching the Corran ferry but we’ll see on the day.
